Reseña crítica: El Conde Sotubai, príncipe
de los vampiros (interpretado por el argentino Guillermo Murray), trata de
vengarse de los descendientes de una familia que trató de liquidarlo siglos
atrás. El siniestro conde captura a una de las sobrinas de su enemigo para
poseerla, sin embargo un ocultista y el novio de la muchacha intentan liberar a
la pobre muchacha. La película intenta pasearse por todos los clichés del cine
de vampiros, las capas, los sarcófagos, los murciélagos de goma que flamean en
el aire, las vampiresas que traspasan las paredes y los colmillos postizos que
deforman las comisuras de sus usuarios. La película, de cortas aspiraciones,
tiene para ofrecer una estupenda escenografía y una simpática ocurrencia: los
vampiros son alentados o rechazados con la ejecución de melodías folklóricas de
los Balcanes. Así que ya sabe, desempolve esas viejas partituras de polkas,
balalaikas y mazurcas y juegue a invocar los muertos, en casa y con amigos.

Summary: Wonderfully atmospheric, but the film itself falls short.
This film has a great
creepy atmosphere that really sets the mood, but the movie falls really short. In
general it's just another Mexican horror film that doesn't stand out. The look
of the film could have made for a horror masterpiece, but the filmmakers didn't
try hard enough. For Mexican horror fans only.
