Friendly match versus men's team (21.6.2008)
The very last match of the season for Turbine Potsdam was a friendly
match versus the men's team of SV Blau-Weiß Damsdorf, that plays in the
eight league. Turbine lost this match 1-6 (1-1).
Damsdorf clearly was the better team and shot the first goal after seben
minutes. In the 13th minute Isabel Kerschowski scored the only goal for
Turbine Potsdam. In the second half Damsdorf finally shot five more
goals.
Turbine Potsdam finishes third (15.6.2008)
The last matchday of the Women's Bundesliga brought an incredible 6-1
win versus SC Freiburg, so that Turbine Potsdam finally has 38 points,
just as Bayern München, but Turbine is one goal ahead in goal difference.
This is a satisfactory result of a less perfect season. The team of 1.
FFC Frankfurt is the champion again for the seventh time. FCR Duisburg
is runner-up and will also enter the UEFA Women's Cup. 1. FC Saarbrücken
and SG Wattenscheid 09 will be relegated into the second league, while
Herford and Jena are the new teams for the next season.
Todays match started good for both teams, but Turbine had the better
chances. So Leni Larsen Kaurin could score the 0-1 after a pass from
Anja Mittag (14'). Unfortunately Alexandra Kury made the 1-1 in the 18th
minute. Goalkeeper Desirée Schumann injured in this situation and had to
be medicated several times after that. She even had to leave the field
in the break. In the 20th minute Jennifer Zietz shot the next goal
for Potsdam with a fine volley ball after a pass from Bianca Schmidt. In
the following time Potsdam played very well, but had first had not
enough luck to score another goal. Short time before the half time
whistle Mittag made the 1-3 after a pass from Kaurin (45'+3), and
Jessica Wich shot the 1-4 a minute later.
In the second half things did not change. Potsdam played really fine
soccer. Wich shot the 1-5 after a pass from Mittag (52'). In the 79th
minute Carolin Schiewe finally shot the deciding goal, which elevated
Potsdam on the third position in the league table again.
Coach Bernd Schröder said: "This was our best match this season. Today
we played that soccer we trained for the last months. The team showed
their real character today."
The next season starts on September 7. Before that there will be the
soccer tournament of the Summer Olympics in Beijing (August 6-21). The
only player from Potsdam will eventually be Babett Peter, while Anja
Mittag and Jennifer Zietz wait in the wings.

Before the last season match Turbine Potsdam today won a friendly
match in Northeim. The opponent was a regional team from Southern Lower
Saxony.
Less than two minutes where played when the regional team suddenly shot
the 1-0. The scorer was Marlene Schneider from Sparta Göttingen. In the
10th minute Anja Mittag made the 1-1. Overall both team splayed on an
equal level in the first half, but only Turbine shot two more goals.
First it was Isabel Kerschowski who made the 1-2 (26'), and then Mittag
scored the second time for the 1-3 (37') with a fine shot.
In the second half Potsdam clearly was the better team. Jennifer Zietz
made the 1-4 (67') and Leni Larsen Kaurin scored the 1-5 (78'). Finally
Kristina
Sundov (Croatian playing on trial) and Mittag scored two more goals before the end of the match.
Bernd Schröder said: "We came as friends, and we will surely come back

Two times ahead, but finally only 2-2 (8.6.2008)
On matchday 21 Turbine Potsdam again had bad luck. In the last home
match this season versus Hamburger SV there was only a 2-2 in the end.
In the first 20 minutes Turbine was the better team and had good scoring
chances by Bianca Schmidt (10') and Isabel Kerschowski (11').
Nevertheless Hamburg had also chances by Kathrin Patzke (9'; 20') and
Tanja Vreden (28'). The match became worse at the end of the first half.
Anja Mittag (32') and Schmidt (38') had two more chances for the first
goal, but unfortunately they missed to score. So there were no goals in
the first half.
The home team started a bit nervous into the second half. Desirée
Schumann had to make two good saves versus Patzke (53') and Vreden
(62'). On the other side Mittag failed to score (56'). So it was Essi
Sainio who made the 1-0 by header after a fine pass from Schmidt (67').
Three minutes before the Finnish national player was substituted in for
Leni Larsen Kaurin. Unfortunately Patzke shot the 1-1 out of twelve
metres short time later (69'). After that the playing of Turbine again
was very unconcentrated. Nevertheless Wich shot the 2-1 after a pass
from Schmidt (84'). But Tugba Tekkal scored the 2-2 again two minutes
later. This was the final result.
Coach Bernd Schröder said: "Congratulations to Hamburg. It was a
hard-earned draw. But it is unexplainable that we leaded two times and
played so imprudently after that."
Before the last season match on Sunday in Freiburg Turbine Potsdam

Highest defeat since ten years (1.6.2008)
On matchday 20 of the German Women's Bundesliga Turbine Potsdam today
lost the away match versus FC Bayern München with 2-7. This clear defeat
was the highest one since the 1-7 defeat at 1. FFC Frankfurt on October
5, 1997. The result is that München now is one point ahead in the league
table, and Turbine now is fourth placed.
There were only three minutes played when Laura Brosius fouled Vanessa
Bürki in the penalty area, and Nina Aigner made the 1-0 for München by
penalty. This was the beginning of a very bad first half. In the 20th
minute Stefanie Mirlach headed in for the 2-0 after a free-kick from
Aigner. The first chance for Turbine had Babett Peter, but she missed
the goal (26'). In the 39th minute Katharina Würmseer shot the 3-0 with
a fine shot out of 30 metres.
In the second half Potsdam played more concentrated. So Anja Mittag made
the 3-1 with a shot out of 18 metres (48'). Twelve minutes later Leni
Larsen Kaurin even made the 3-2 with a free-kick. After that Potsdam had
the chance to make the third goal (Mittag, Bianca Schmidt), but
unfortunately the team was not successful. So Mirlach scored the 4-2
after a pass from Aigner (79'), which was the beginning of the end for
Potsdam. Carolina Pini (85') and Mirlach (86'; 90') were the scorers of
three more goals, so that the final result was 7-2.
Bernd Schröder said: "It is a long time ago when we last conceded seven
goals. After the 4-2 we stopped to believe in our skills."
Next Sunday there will be the last home match this season. The opponent
will be the team of Hamburger SV.

Lucky win for Duisburg (25.5.2008)
Turbine Potsdam today lost the home match versus FCR 2001 Duisburg
1-2. With three more matches to be played this season Turbine now has no
chance to reach a better position than 3rd, and has to struggle hard to
hold this position.
In the first 30 minutes of the match Duisburg clearly was the better
team, and played great soccer. So there were only eight minutes played
when a shot by Fatmire Bajramaj first was saved by Desirée Schumann, and
Annemieke Kiesel-Griffioen shot the first goal for Duisburg after that.
In the 16th minute Patricia Hanebeck hit the right post. Potsdam made a
lot of mistakes and had no great scoring chances. So the half-time
result was 0-1.
Inka Grings had the first chance in the second half, but her shot was
saved by Schumann (47'). On the other side Kathrin Längert saved a shot
by Essi Sainio. Potsdam became better in this phase of the match. In the
73rd minute Anne van Bonn fouled Jessica Wich in the penalty area and
Babett Peter scored the 1-1 by penalty (74'). After that Duisburg treid
hard to make another goal. A shot by Grings was greatly saved by
Schumann. In the 80th minute Stephanie Goddard failed to score standing
free infront of the goal. Finally Grings first hit the post and then
made the 1-2 in the 90th minute. The last chance of the match had Anja
Mittag, but her shot went above the goal (90'+2).
Coach Bernd Schröder said: "This was a rightful victory for Duisburg,
because they were the better team. Surely it was a lucky win for
Duisburg in the end. Especially in the first half we played very bad
today."
Next Sunday Turbine plays in München that is only two points behind. So
a victory for Potsdam would be important for holding the 3rd position.
Line-up Potsdam: Desirée Schumann

2-0 win in Saarbrücken (18.5.2008)
On todays matchday 18 Turbine Potsdam won the away match versus 1. FC
Saarbrücken 2-0, and still holds the third position in the league table.
Frankfurt and Duisburg are 10 and 9 points ahead, and there are only 4
matches to play. Bayern München is just two points behind Potsdam.
Saarbrücken was the better team at the beginning, and so Lisa Schwab had
the first chance to score in the sixth minute. On the other side Jessica
Wich failed to score two minutes later. In the 24th minute Schwab nearly
made the first goal, but standing completely free she shot above the
goal. So Wich made the 0-1 for Potsdam six minutes later after a
free-kick of Anja Mittag. In the 34th minute Desirée Schumann greatly
saved another shot by Schwab. So only one goal was scored in the first
half.
After the break Saarbrücken tried to make their goal, but they were not
successful. In the 65th minute Essi Sainio was injured and has to leave
the field. After that Saarbrücken had a lot of chances, but Potsdam's
defence was very good today, so that there were even some chances after
counter attacks, e.g. by Mittag (67') and Leni Larsen Kaurin (81').
Finally Wich made the 0-2 in the 87th minute after Mittag had hit the
cross-bar. This was the final result.
Coach Bernd Schröder said: "Finally we have won this match because we
better made use of our chances than Saarbrücken, and perhaps we had a
bit more luck today. We were not the absolutely better team. I am also
happy that Saarbrücken did not score a goal against our team."
Next Sunday there will be a very hard home match versus FCR Duisburg.
The second placed team is only one point behind Frankfurt. Yesterday
they defeated VfL Wolfsburg 9-1.

Clear defeat in Frankfurt (12.5.2008)
This was a bad day for Turbine Potsdam. The team lost the away match
versus 1. FFC Frankfurt 0-4. It was the highest defeat since October 10,
1999, when Potsdam lost the away match in Duisburg 1-5.
Turbine surely had the better start, but the first goal shot Kerstin
Garefrekes (10'). After that there were too many mistakes, especially in
the defence of the guest team. So Frankfurt had a number of great
chances to make the second goal. In the 33rd minute Carolin schiewe had
to leave the field, because of two fouls and the resulting yellow-red
card. Some seconds later Petra Wimbersky made the 2-0 for Frankfurt with
a fine shot out of 15 metres. This was the half-time result.
In the second half Turbine tried hard to change things a bit, but this
was very difficult with 10 players. So Birgit Prinz finally made two
more goals. The first one was scored in the 68th minute and the second
one was a penalty given because of a foul by Bianca Schmidt on Alexandra
Krieger (75').
Next Sunday Potsdam plays in Saarbrücken.
Line-up Frankfurt: Silke
Rottenberg - Katrin Kliehm, Tina Wunderlich, Alexandra Krieger (79'
Karolin Thomas), Saskia Bartusiak (75' Sarah Günther) - Kerstin

Turbine defeats Wolfsburg 3-2 (4.5.2008)
On matchday 16 Turbine Potsdam today defeated the team of VfL
Wolfsburg 3-2. So there are no changes in the league table for Potsdam
so far.
Turbine started perfectly and after six minutes Babett Peter scored the
1-0 by header after a corner kick by Isabel Kerschowski. In the 32nd
minute Franziska Hagemann shot her first goal in the Bundesliga. After a
long pass from Aferdita Kameraj she lifted the ball over goalkeeper
Anne-Friederike Rißling. Unfortunately Shelley Thomspon made the 2-1 for
Wolfsburg short time before the break.
In the beginning of the second half Wolfsburg was much better than in
the first half. So only a few seconds were played and Britta Carlson
shot the 2-2 out of 12 metres after a corner kick by Annelie Brendel.
Turbine needed some time to come back into the match. Then Anja Mittag,
Bianca Schmidt and Jessica Wich had good chances to score. In the 67th
minute it was then Schmidt who scored the 3-2 for Potsdam after a long
pass from Jennifer Zietz. After that no more goals were scored. The best
chances for Wolfsburg had Anna Blässe (88') and Thompson (89'), but they
were not successful.
Coach Bernd Schröder said: "Especially in the first half we played that
soccer I would like to see, although we had to score much more goals."
Bernd Huneke (Coach of Wolfsburg) was disappointed: "The first half was
terrible. But a draw was possible if one considers the two great chances
in the end."
On Monday, May 12, there will be the top match of the Women's
Bundesliga, when Turbine Potsdam plays in Frankfurt. There will be a
live broadcast of this match on

Unfortunate defeat in Bad Neuenahr (13.4.2008)
After winning three matches in series Turbine Potsdam today lost the
away match in Bad Neuenahr 1-2. It was the first defeat this year. Now
there seems to be no more hope for a better position than 3 in the
league table this season.
Turbine did not play that bad in the first half. In the 26th minute a
free kick by Jennifer Zietz was saved by Ursula Holl. Four minutes later
Bianca Schmidt scored the for Potsdam by header after a centre pass from
Leni Larsen Kaurin. But another two minutes later Sarah Schmitz scored
the 1-1 by penalty, that was given because of a foul by Laura Brosius on
Nadine Hagmann. In the first half then nothing more happened.
After the break Potsdam tried hard to make the second goal, but the team
was not successful. The best chance had Schmidt, who hit the crossbar in
the 79th minute. So it was Celia Okoyino da Mbabi, who suddenly shot the
2-1 for Bad Neuenahr after a counter-attack (85'). In the end Carolin
Schiewe hit the post after a free kick (88'), and Aferdita Kameraj
missed another chance just before the final whistle (90').
Bernd Schröder said: "This was a very unfortunate defeat. The foul
before the penalty was superfluos and was the crucial point of the match.
We had to win this match in normal case."
The next match will be in three weeks, when Turbine Potsdam plays versus
VfL Wolfsburg.
Line-up Bad Neuenahr: Ursula Holl
- Nadine Hagmann, Viola Odebrecht, Anne-Kathrin Sabel, Melanie Schmacher

Again a clear win for Turbine (6.4.2008)
This again was a good performance of the team of Turbine Potsdam. On
matchday 14 Turbine defeated SG Essen-Schönebeck 3-0, and so there is
now a greater distance in points to the fourth placed team in the league
table, VfL Wolfsburg.
Turbine started in a brilliant way. Jessica Wich (1', 3'), Jennifer
Zietz (2', 3') and Aferdita Kameraj (4') had really good scoring chances.
Although Essen became a bit better after ten minutes, Potsdam still was
the dominant team. In the 20th minute a shot by Carolin Schiewe missed
the goal slightly. So a foul by Inka Wesely on Bianca Schmidt in the
penalty area was needed for the first goal, which was then scored by
Zietz (25'). In the last minutes of the first half the playing became a
bit slower, so that nothing more happened.
In the second half the match was more balanced. In the 47th and 52nd
minute Pia Marxkord saved two dangerous shots by header. Some minutes
later Bianca Schmidt had two great chances to make the next goal, but
first she shot above the goal (66') and then she hit the bar (67'). A
minute later Desirée Schuman saved a shot by Stefanie Weichelt, and in
the 70th minute Isabelle Linden hit the bar for Essen. Two minutes later
Schmidt missed the goal slightly on the other side. It was a gripping
match in the last minutes. Five minutes before the end Schumann
fantastically saved a shot by Weichelt. On the other side Anja Mittag
thean scored the 2-0 out of 20 metres (88'). Some seconds later Schumann
again made two good saves, before Wich scored the 3-0 after a great pass
from Schmidt (90'), which was the final result.
After this exciting match there again is some hope that a better
position in the league table still is possible. Next Sunday Potsdam
plays versus SC 07 Bad Neuenahr in the next away match.

Highest win this season (30.3.2008)
This was a good Sunday for Turbine Potsdam. The team today defeated
SG Wattenscheid 09 5-0. It was the highest away win since 9.4.2006, when
Turbine defeated FFC Heike Rheine 7-0. In the league tabel Potsdam still
is third placed.
Turbine clearly was the better team and so there was an early goal by
Jennifer Zietz (15'). The 2-0 was scored by Jessica Wich five minutes
before the break.
In the second half Zietz became the player of the match, because she
shot two more goals (56'; 65'). The final goal scored Lena Wermelt (75')
- it was an own goal.
Bernd Schröder said: "We could have scored much more goals today,
because of the weak opponent. At least five times we were standing right
in front of the goal and did not score. We won in a superior way.
Nevertheless I am satisfied with this victory."
Next Sunday Turbine Potsdam plays versus SG Essen-Schönebeck.
Line-up Wattenscheid: Nadine

Lucky win for Turbine Potsdam (24.3.2008)
Turbine Potsdam today won the home match versus TSV Crailsheim 2-1.
So the team still holds the 3rd position in the league table.
Turbine had the better start. The best chance to make the first goal had
Aferdita Kameraj in the 10th minute, but her shot went over the goal.
Some seconds later Claudia Nußelt missed the goal on the other side.
After that Potsdam had greater problems to get some chances, because the
defending of Crailsheim was very good. So a corner kick by Isabel
Kerschowski was needed for the 1-0. Babett Peter scored this goal with a
fine header (29'). Two minutes later Carolin Schiewe nearly made the
second goal. In the 44th minute Potsdam had much luck that Nußelt just
hit the crossbar. Short time before the break Jennifer Zietz failed to
score for Potsdam.
In the 56th minute a goal by Essi Sainio was not given because she
fouled Rachel Howard. Then Desirée Schumann saved two shots by Nußelt
(63') and Nadine Beck (64', free kick). In the 71st minute Turbine
Potsdam failed a double chance to make the second goal. In the 83rd
minute Julia Manger suddenly made the 1-1 for Crailsheim, but a few
seconds later Zietz scored a great goal by free kick out of 30 metres
(84'). In the last minutes nothing more happened.
Next Sunday Turbine Potsdam plays in Wattenscheid. In the home match
Potsdam won 3-1 last August.

It seems that Turbine at the moment is not in the best state. In the
home match against the last placed team SC Freiburg Potsdam only reached
a 1-1 draw. In the league table Turbine still is third placed with 19
points - six points behind Duisburg.
Freiburg did not play that bad as one would have expected. The team had
some good chances to score, but Gaëlle
Thalmann saved all shots. The playing of the home team was less
good. There were a lot of bad passes. Nevertheless Potsdam made the
first goal in the 38th minute. Isabel Kerschowski scored the 1-0 after a
pass from Anja Mittag. This was the half-time result.
In the second half things did not change. In the 60th minute Mittag
injured (arm break). Two minutes later Susanne Hartel made the 1-1 after
a pass from Myriam Krüger. In the following time Turbine tried to make
another goal, but had no luck.
Bernd Schröder said: "I think we could have played another three hours
without scoring another goal. Congratulations to Freiburg. I wonder why
this team is the last one in the league table."
On March 24th there will be the next home match, when Potsdam plays
against TSV Crailsheim.

Turbine gives victory away (24.2.2008)
On matchday 10 of the German Women's Bundesliga the teams of
Hamburger SV and 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam played 2-2, and so Turbine still
holds the third position in the league table.
Potsdam had a great start in Hamburg, but missed to score. There were
only three minutes played when Jennifer Zietz hit the left post. Six
minutes later Bianca Weech saved a shot of Anja Mittag. So Hamburg made
the first goal in the 25th minute. It was Silva Lone Saländer, who shot
the 1-0 by header after a pass from Tanja Vreden. Fortunately Mittag
scored the 1-1 four minutes later after a centre pass from Leni Larsen
Kaurin.
In the second half Turbine even made the 1-2. The scorer was Jessica
Wich (60'). In the following time Potsdam tried to save this result, but
there was more and more carelessness and less precision. So in the 89th
minute Imke Wübbenhorst suddenly made the 2-2 again by header following
a free kick.
Coach Bernd Schröder said: "We could have had a two goal lead after 15
minutes. Then with two individual faults in the defense we gave the
victory away. We were not clever enough to keep a 2-1 lead. This is an
unnecessary point loss in the fight for place 2."
In the next home match on Sunday Potsdam plays against SC Freiburg.
Line-up Hamburg: Bianca Weech -
Janina Haye, Stephanie Ende (88' Julia Weigel), Christina Plessen,
Heike Freese (86' Maja Schubert) - Silva

Potsdam wins last test match (17.2.2008)
Today Turbine Potsdam had the last test match before the second part
of the season. In Beelitz Turbine defeated the second league team of 1.
FC Lok Leipzig 2-1.
Potsdam surely was the better team, but Leipzig made the first goal. It
was their first attack in this match - after a corner Juliane Guhr made
a precise header, and there was the 0-1 in the 40th minute. It seemed,
that some players were a bit tired after winning the Under-23 four
nations cup in La Manga (Spain) two days before.
Nevertheless, in the second half things changed. Essi Sainio made the
1-1 by header (49'). Finally the 2-1 was scored by Anja Mittag (64'),
who made use out of a huge mistake of Leipzig's goalkeeper.
Bern Schröder said: "The way from Spain to Beelitz seemed to be too long
for some players. And the opponent did not do anything for a good match
today. That is not that women's soccer I like."
The balance of the last four test matches looks like that: 2 wins; 2
defeats (versus men's teams); 13-13 goals; Scorers: Anja Mittag 6, Essi
Sainio 2, Jessica Wich 2, Leni Larsen Kaurin 1, Isabel Kerschowski 1,
Carolin Schiewe 1
Next Sunday there will be the next league match, when Potsdam meets
Hamburg.
Line-up Potsdam: Jennifer Werth
(46' Anna Saarholz) - Pia Marxkordt, Babett Peter, Stefanie Draws,

Turbine loses test match (7.2.2008)
Turbine Potsdam today lost the test match versus the men's team of
FSV Babelsberg 74 1-5 (1-2).
Turbine had a good start and could make the first goal in the 10th
minute. Anja Mittag was the scorer. Unfortunately Jennifer Zietz made an
own goal in the 20th minute, and two minutes later Babelsberg made the
1-2. But there were no more goals scored in the first half.
In the second half Babelsberg clearly was the better team and scored
three more goals, so that the final standing was 1-5.
The last test match will be on 17th of February in Beelitz. Then the
second league team of 1. FC Lok Leipzig will be the opponent.
Line-up Potsdam: Gaëlle

Hohen Neuendorf vs. Turbine 0-6 (3.2.2008)
In another test match Turbine Potsdam today defeated the 3rd league
team of SV Blau-Weiß Hohen Neuendorf 6-0 (3-0).
Turbine was the clearly better team. After two minutes Anja Mittag hit
the bar. Four minutes later goalkeeper Stefanie Hundertmark saved a ball
from Leni Larsen Kaurin. The first chance for Hohen Neuendorf had Sandra
Sommer (16'). In the 22nd minute Mittag scored the 0-1. Eight minutes
later it was again Mittag, who made the 0-2 after a pass from Leni
Larsen Kaurin. The last goal before the break shot Jessica Wich after a
pass from Isabel Kerschowski (33').
In the second half things did not change. In the 55th minute Mittag made
her third goal in this match after a fine pass from Josephine Schlanke.
In the 64th minute Schlanke made another assist. After her corner kick
Essi Sainio scored the 0-5 with a header. Finally Kaurin shot the 0-6 in
the 74th minute.
Bernd Schröder said: "It was not important how many goals we would score,
but how we would play. We did not play very creatively."
In the next test match on Thursday the opponent is the men's team of FSV
Babelsberg 74 (8th league) from Potsdam.
Line-up Hohen Neuendorf: Stefanie

Turbine loses match vs. Bornim men (31.1.2008)
Turbine Potsdam has lost a test match versus a junior men's team of
SG Bornim with 4:7 tonight.
Bornim clearly was the better team and so
the standing after the first half was 0-5. In the second half two more
goals followed, before Carolin Schiewe scored the first goal for Turbine
by hand penalty (63'). It seemed that Turbine had the better condition
in the following time. In the 75th minute Isabel Kerschowski scored out
of 25 metres. Then Jessica Wich made a fine goal (82'). Six minutes
later Wich first hit the bar, before Anja Mittag shot the last goal of
the match. So the final standing was 7-4 for Bornim. And Bernd Schröder
said: "I am more or less satisfied with this result."
Gaëlle Thalmann, a 22 years old national
goalkeeper from Switzerland (7 matches), made her first match for
Potsdam. Her last club was SC LUwin.ch Luzern. She has signed a contract
until 2009, and will continue her studies of History and German studies
at the University of Potsdam.
The next test match
takes place on Sunday. Potsdam thean meets the 3rd league team of
Blau-Weiß Hohen Neuendorf.

Third place at Indoor Cup in Bielefeld (20.1.2008)
A week after the win of the German Indoor Cup in Bonn Turbine Potsdam
today reached the third place at the 29th International Indoor Cup in
Bielefeld. The winner was FCR Duisburg for the first time.
Potsdam played in Group 1, where six were to be played. In the first
match the team reached a clear 6-0 win versus Kolbotn IL from Norway.
The goals scored Jessica Wich (2), Stefanie Draws, Anja Mittag, Isabel
Kerschowski and Jennifer Zietz. In the second match the opponent Valur
Reykjavik from Iceland played much better than Kolbotn. After four
minutes Margret Lara Vidarsdottir shot the first goal, but three minutes
later Bianca Schmidt made the 1-1 after a corner kick from Draws. There
were no more goals in this match. Then Potsdam defeated SC Bad Neuenahr
with 4-1. In the 8th minute Laura Brosius made the first goal after a
pass from Kerschowski. Two minutes later Viola Odebrecht scored the 1-1.
In the last minutes Zietz, Kerschowski and Draws shot the other three
goals. In the fourth match there was the next match versus Kolbotn,
which Potsdam won 6-1 this time. Anja Mittag (2), Kerschowski (2), Draws
and Leni Larsen Kaurin were the scorers this time, while Solveig
Gulbrandsen made the only goal for Kolbotn. The fifth and the sixth
group match were then played on Sunday. At first there was a 5-0 win
versus Valur Reykjavik. Mittag scored the first three goals within three
minutes. Wich and again Mittag shot the other two goals. In the last
group match Potsdam again defeated Bad Neuenahr 4-1. Mittag, Wich,
Schiewe and Brosius scored for Potsdam and Odebrecht for Bad Neuenahr.
Finally Turbine finished first in Group 1, and FCR Duisburg was the
winner of group 2.
So these were the final standings of the two groups:
1. T. Potsdam 6 26-4 16

3. Neuenahr 6 12-15 6
4. Kolbotn IL 6 9-23 4 |

2. Brondby IF 6 13-11 12
3. Djurgarden 6 7-10 10
4. Gütersloh 6 4-24 1 |
In the semi-final Potsdam played versus Brondby IF from Denmark.
Potsdam had the better start. Draws made the 1-0 after three minutes,
and Zietz shot the 2-0 in the 8th minute. The match was nearly over,
when Mia Olsen suddenly shot two goals for Brondby (13', 14'). So a
penalty shootout was needed. Here Turbine missed the goal three times,
which was too much, so that Brondby won this match 5-4.
In the third place match Valur Reykjavik was the opponent. The team from
Iceland lost their semi-final match with 2-3 versus Duisburg. The first
goal for Potsdam shot Kaurin after a pass from Mittag (5'). Then
Vidarsdottir fastly shot two goals for Valur. In the 7th minute Gudny
Odinsdottir made the 1-3. A minute later Kaurin scored the 2-3. Finally
Schiewe made the 3-3 (12'), so that again the penalty shootout should
decide about the match winner. Desirée Schumann saved three shots this
time, so that Turbine Potsdam finally won this match with 6-5.

first goal after 15 seconds. In the 9th minute Mittag shot the
compensation. Schiewe finally shot the finally shot the 2-1 20 seconds
before the end (10’).
Potsdam's coach Bernd Schröder said: "I think we have won rightfully in

Turbine out of DFB Cup (16.12.2007)
This was a bad ending of the soccer year for Turbine Potsdam. After
the lost league match last week the team today also was deafeated by 1.
FFC Frankfurt in the quarter final of the DFB Cup. 1. FC Saarbrücken,
Bayern München and TuS Köln also entered the semi-finals.
It seemed that Potsdam would be the better team first, because they had
the better scenes in the offence in the first 15 minutes.
The best one
had Anja Mittag, who failed to score while standing free infront of the
goal (8'). In the 16th minute Conny Pohlers failed the goal. But two
minutes later Karolin Thomas shot the 0-1 for Frankfurt after a corner
kick from Pia Wunderlich. After that both teams played on the same level.
The playing became a bit harder, and there were less great chances to
score, so that the 0-1 was the half-time result.
At the beginning of the second half the home team had much more power
and was pushing hard to make their goal. In the 56th minute Isabel
Kerschowski nearly made it, but her shot was cleared by Gina Lewandowski
in the last second. Four minutes later Mittag had an even greater chance,
when her free kick first was stopped by the Defence and the directly
following second shot hit the post.
After that the playing of Turbine
Potsdam became more and more unconcentrated. Frankfurt had another
scoring chance by Petra Wimbersky in the 68th minutes, but then there
were no more great scenes. The last chance for Potsdam failed Mittag
(90'+1). Then the final whistle came.
The semi-finals will be played on March 24 next year. The next league
match will be Hamburger SV vs. Turbine Potsdam (24.02.2008). Before that
there will be the Indoor Championship in Bonn (12.01.2008).

Turbine loses home match (9.12.2007)
Turbine Potsdam today lost the first home match since 3.12.2006
(Turbine vs. Duisburg 0-3). More than a year later it was the team of FC
Bayern München, who won 2-1 in Potsdam. Turbine now is 3rd placed in the
league table.
The match nearly began perfect for the home team. After four minutes
Isabel Kerschowski scored the 1-0 after a pass from Jessica Wich. But in
the following team München was the better team. In the 14th minute
Desirée Schuman saved a ball by Nicole Banecki, but after that Nina
Aigner came to make the 1-1. Twelve minutes later Julia Simic scored the
1-2 after a fine pass from Sylvie Banecki. Short time before the break
Schumann saved another two shots by S. Banecki and Simic (42').
In the second half Aferdita Kameraj instead of Schumann saved a shot by
Vanessa Bürki (57'). Then Turbine Potsdam treid hard to make another
goal, but the players were not successful. The best chances had Anja
Mittag (60'; 65') and Jessica Wich (89'), but all shots were saved by
Ulrike Schmetz. So the final result was 1-2.
Coach Bernd Schröder said: "I can't believe it. We destroyed all our
work of the last weeks. We could have played another few hours today
without scoring a second goal."
Next Sunday there will be the last match of the year. In the DFB Cup
Quarter Final the opponent will be 1. FFC Frankfurt. The venue is
Potsdam.

Important win in Duisburg (2.12.2007)
Turbine Potsdam today won the match in Duisburg 1-0 and is now second
placed in the league table. It was the first match this season, that
Duisburg did not win.
The goal of the match was scored after three minutes by Anja Mittag
after a pass from Carolin Schiewe. No one expected, that it would be the
only goal today. After that Duisburg tried hard to make a goal, and had
four good chances to do so in the first half (Anne van Bonn 6', Inka
Grings 18' and 19', Turid Knaak 39'). Potsdam had another chance by
Mittag to score the second goal (30').
In the second half Jennifer Werth was Potsdam's new goalkeeper, because
Desirée Schumann injured in the first half. Werth did not had to do much
saves, because the Offence of the home team was not playing very good.
Duisburg only had two more chances in the last 15 minutes by Fatmire
Bajramaj (77') and Annike Krahn (88'), but they were not successful. So
the final result was 1-0 for Turbine Potsdam.
Coach Bernd Schröder said: "After this victory we again have chances to
win the championship. Surely this match could also have ended 0-0 or 1-1
today, but we had more luck today. I am also happy, that our players
were a really good team today."
Next Sunday the opponent in the last league match this year will be the
team of FC Bayern München.
