Neumann and I went to Novosibirsk to view this total solar eclipse. We
organised to whole trip ourselves, which gave us ultimate flexibility
on eclipse day. After extensively studying weather models and satellite
images we took a taxi to Kochenevo, some 45km west of the city.
Here we met Rainer Kresken, David Morgan, Steffen Elste and a very
enthusiastic group of young astronomers from Moscow. We could
enjoy the eclipse within a group of fellow eclipse chasers and
with best weather.
