multidimensional data analysis

nNMDS.exe, a Visual Basic Program for nonmetric multidimensional scaling.
This program transform raw data into rank data. Based on these rank data a distance matrix is calculated by using citi-block-metric. This distance matrix is used for the NMDS. However, the program is also able to calculate a NMDS based on any loaded distance matrix. Jackknife and some other options are available. For further information read the 'UserNotes'.

cramer-t.exe, is a VB-Program for the recently developed nonparametric multivariate two-sample test (Cramér-Test).

Bonferroni correction of p-values

The Bonferroni correction is a method for the adjustment of p-values which are calculated from multiple tests. The method used in this program is based on Holm (1979) with Hochberg's (1988) variation. It is described and explained in detail in Legendre & Legendre (1998: 18). 'UserGuide'

MSA

measure of sampling adequacy

The program msa-me.exe calculates the measure of sampling adequacy. The value of MSA indicates how well suited the data are for a factor analysis. Read 'UserNotes' for further information.

morphology

morphological integration

The program calculates the index of integration based on the correlation matrix. This index is a measure of the degree of morphological integration. Read 'UserNotes' for further information.

alignment / distance

pairwise alignment of DNA sequences and distances

The program produce pairwise alignments of DNA sequences. Further it is possible to calculate pairwise molecular distances. 'Users Guide'.

 

 

 

 

 

 

strand asymmetry

correlation between strand asymmetry and phylogeny

 

 

 

The program calculates the evolutionary distance based on strand asymmetry property of mitochondrial DNA. This evolutionary distance between taxa is introduced by Barral et al. 2005: Correlation between strand asymmetry and phylogeny in mitochondrial DNA. Journal of Theoretical Biology 236, 442-426.
